| Mission Statement: Springfield Little Tigers Youth Organization is a non-profit community-base organization. That is committed to promote the highest level of leadership, ethical standards, and morals throughout all of our programs. We will provide outstanding educational and recreational opportunities through a broad range of activities. Our organization will sustain a multicultural atmosphere, which will help promote harmony within our organization and throughout the community.
History: The Springfield Little Tigers Youth Inc., a non-profit organization formerly known as the Springfield Little Tigers Football Club was founded over 40 years ago by a group of men who wanted to help young underprivileged boys learn how to play football. These men started from scratch and developed a great peewee football program. This organization has won several division and league championships in the past, and we have expanded this program to also teach young athletes to do their best academically by providing training in basic literacy education in a small group setting which follow a holistic, integrated approach to understanding by teaching reading and writing skills. We currently are serving hundreds of young boys and girls in the Springfield and Clark County area through the Tigers little league football teams. Springfield Little Tigers Youth Organization is working to do our part by mentoring, encouraging, and tutoring these students of our School system. We feel there is a need for quality programs like The Springfield Little Tigers Youth Inc., and with the community’s help, our efforts to provide the young people in this sports area an alternative form of recreation and basic literacy education will continue. |
